Bethlehem Central and Columbia are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bethlehem Central and Guilderland had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles fell just short of the Flying Dutchmen by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Bethlehem Central got a good showing from Nolan Devejian, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Bethlehem Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Evangelista, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Columbia posted their closest win since April 29, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Guilderland 8-6. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Flying Dutchmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ronan Kreshik was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Bethlehem Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Columbia, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Bethlehem Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Columbia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
