Volleyball Recap: New Castle's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but New Castle unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves by a score of 2-1. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2017.

Akiyah Turner paced New Castle's offense, picking up ten kills. Turner got some help from Megan Luce and her 24 assists. Emily Luce controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

New Castle's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

New Castle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Muncie Burris on the 13th. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Jay County on the 13th.
