Softball Recap: Southern Wells Comes Up Short

Southern Wells and Cowan squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Southern Wells had to settle for second. They lost 8-2 to the Blackhawks. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Southern Wells saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Pennington, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Pennington has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

With the defeat, Southern Wells broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-20. As for Cowan, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.

Southern Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cowan, they will square off against North Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
