Baseball Preview: Northridge Polar Bears vs. Troy Christian Eagles
Northridge is 1-6 against Troy Christian since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Polar Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 5:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, Northridge came up short against Bethel and fell 5-1. The Polar Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Troy Christian won against Milton-Union last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles walked away with a 6-2 win over Riverside. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Judah Simmons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Landon Day was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Broomhall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Troy Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
