Basketball Recap: Seneca Valley Drops Season-High Score on Rockville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 65-48 victory over the Rockville Rams on Thursday. The Screamin' Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Seneca Valley had a senior duo take command as Jaysen Moise dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards and Isaac Olanrewaju went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Olanrewaju a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Green, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Seneca Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Seneca Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Rockville, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Seneca Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-38 loss against Wootton on the 27th. As for Rockville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-66 defeat against Woodbridge on the 27th.
