Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vandegrift). They came out on top against the Manor Mustangs by a score of 19-16 on Friday. The Vipers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Vandegrift's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Manor, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Vandegrift and Manor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Vipers will face off against Cedar Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (861 vs. 171). The timing isn't great for Vandegrift: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Raiders have snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Manor (ranked 996th) will meet Vista Ridge (ranked 428th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
