Pinecrest Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Young Americans Christian, sneaking past 23-21. The Paladins haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian faced Young Americans Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Cougars took their game with ease, bagging a 37-6 win over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

One reason for the win was Lafayette Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Young Americans Christian's QB won't forget Eli Carroll anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Lafayette Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Pinecrest Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-1.

Pinecrest Academy strolled past Lafayette Christian when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a score of 34-20. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' David Karvelas, who rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 145 yards and a pair of TDs.
