Softball Recap: Pottsville Gets the Win

After only one run in their last game, Pottsville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Waldron on Tuesday. The Apaches' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Madison Kellar was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Jessica Atkins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Pottsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waldron only posted an OBP of .062.

Pottsville's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Waldron, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-10.

Pottsville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Russellville on the 10th. As for Waldron, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-3 win against Ozark on the 10th.
