Covington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bethel Bees. The Buccs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bees apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Bethel had a senior duo take command as Michael Halleg almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds and Cameron Ahrens dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. Halleg also set a new season-high mark in assists with six. Sean Phipps was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bethel, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will head out to square off against Northridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bethel, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lehman Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
