Softball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

Summit extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Los Osos Grizzlies. The contest marked the first time this year in which the SkyHawks were not able to get on the board.

As for Los Osos, the victory got them back to even at 6-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Los Osos' part, the result came thanks to Josselyn Ludwig's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. Ludwig has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Los Osos saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johanna Banuelos, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Banuelos a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Summit and Los Osos will both be playing Alta Loma the next time they take the field. The SkyHawks will head out to face the Braves at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Grizzlies will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
