It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Liberty had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wasco Tigers 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Macie Webster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Leilah Uriarte was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Liberty pushed their record up to 21-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wasco, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9-1.

Coming up, Liberty will take on Pioneer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. Wasco does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
