Softball Recap: Ash Fork/Seligman Spartans vs. El Capitan Eagles
Ash Fork/Seligman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the El Capitan Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-7 on Tuesday.
Ash Fork/Seligman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Staples, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.
Ash Fork/Seligman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for El Capitan, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ash Fork/Seligman will host Mayer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Capitan, they will be playing at home against Window Rock at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while the Fighting Scouts won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
