Softball Recap: Hays Gets the Win

Hays won against Dodge City last Tuesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Indians didn't even let the Demons on the board, marking the Indians' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jaylee Summers made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Riley Dreher was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lanie Becker, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Hays' record is now 2-0. As for Dodge City, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Hays will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Demons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
