Baseball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. River Road Wildcats

Tulia hasn't had much luck against River Road recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tulia Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the River Road Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Tulia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Tulia made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Idalou, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Tulia blew past Idalou 9-3 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Zach Trevino was incredible, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Becerra, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, River Road beat West Texas 14-10 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Seth Underwood, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Anthoney Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Tulia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. The victory got River Road back to even at 4-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tulia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like River Road struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
