Baseball Recap: Homer Trojans vs. Jordan-Elbridge Eagles

Homer had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it six. They lost 11-4 to the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Tuesday.

As for Jordan-Elbridge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. Considering they have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Jordan-Elbridge's part, Shannon III Ahern made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, Ahern is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
