Volleyball Recap: Marathon Takes a Loss

Marathon and Stanley-Boyd squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Marathon had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Orioles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Raiders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-21.

Emma Love paced Marathon's offense, picking up six kills. Love got some help from Mayven Schneider and her eight assists.

Marathon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Stanley-Boyd, they pushed their record up to 40-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Marathon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stanley-Boyd, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Stratford on the 25th.
