The Mohawk Area Warriors will challenge the South Side Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mohawk Area barely beat Avonworth the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Antelopes on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on five straight.

Reagan Magno was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. That run marked the first that she scored this season.
In other batting news, Addy Moskal was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Lydia Cole was another key player, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-5.
Mohawk Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, South Side came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Bishop Canevin get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Monday. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Mohawk Area, South Side also got a great game from a two-way player: Maya Ringhoff. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ringhoff was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, seven RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, South Side got a massive performance out of Ariel Poelcher, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegann Tate, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Mohawk Area's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Side, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
South Side's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mohawk Area has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for South Side, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Mohawk Area's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mohawk Area took their victory against South Side when the teams last played back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
