Baseball Recap: Parkview Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Parkview Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Hiawatha on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Bede Bruins on Saturday.

Landon Malkowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Parkview Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for St. Bede, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Parkview Christian Academy and St. Bede should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 248th) will meet Families of Faith Christian Academy (ranked 536th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Bede will take on Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (62 vs. 246). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bruins 3.1, the Rockets 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
