Softball Game Preview: Orange Cove Titans vs. Farmersville Aztecs

Orange Cove is a perfect 10-0 against Farmersville since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will square off against the Aztecs at 4:00 p.m. Orange Cove is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Orange Cove was able to grind out a solid victory over North, taking the game 7-3.

Daisy Regalado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madeline Powers was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Kassandra Ocejo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Orange Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Farmersville got the win against Orosi on Tuesday by a conclusive 24-8. The Aztecs haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Farmersville pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Orange Cove, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Orange Cove was able to grind out a solid win over Farmersville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
