Baseball Recap: Mount Michael Benedictine's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mount Michael Benedictine ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Seward Bluejays 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Alex Poole tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Mount Michael Benedictine saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Beninato, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Beninato a new career-high. Jackson Teetor was another, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Mount Michael Benedictine's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Seward, they moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mount Michael Benedictine will challenge rival Elkhorn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Seward is set to face off against their familiar foe Omaha South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
