Basketball Recap: Ridgeway Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Ridgeway fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Arlington on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Arlington Tigers 72-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (63), the Roadrunners still had to take the loss.

Loss or not, Ridgeway got some senior leadership from Demario Johnson and Marjavis Chandler. Johnson went 8 for 13 on his way to 18 points and five assists, while Chandler went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Williams, who posted seven points and three blocks.

Ridgeway's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Arlington, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Ridgeway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-39 loss against Southwind on the 6th. As for Arlington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-44 victory against Memphis Central on the 6th.
