Volleyball Recap: Channel Islands Finds Playoff Glory Versus Magnolia

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Channel Islands had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Magnolia Sentinels 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Channel Islands was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-18, 15-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-12.

Channel Islands was led to victory by Riley Luna and Arthur Macalma. Luna had 21 digs, while Macalma had ten digs. That's the most digs Luna has posted since back in March.

Channel Islands' record is now 13-7. As for Magnolia, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-22.

Coming up, Channel Islands will venture away from home to challenge Wildwood on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. Magnolia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
