Baseball Game Preview: Flippin Bobcats vs. Melbourne Bearkatz

The Flippin Bobcats will face off against the Melbourne Bearkatz at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Flippin sitting on four straight victories and Melbourne on nine.

It was a proper cat-fight when Flippin challenged Lead Hill on Tuesday. The Bobcats never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Melbourne made easy work of Salem on Tuesday and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Bearkatz are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.

Melbourne's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Flippin, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Flippin suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Melbourne in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
