Preview: Lee Central Stallions vs. Socastee Braves
The Lee Central Stallions's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Socastee Braves at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Lee Central suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Mullins by a score of 45-42. Lee Central has struggled against Mullins recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Lee Central saw an underclassman step up: Kiauj Allen scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Rjay Spann, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Socastee pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. James by a score of 57-55. While losing is never fun, Socastee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while St. James is ranked 20th).
Lee Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Socastee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
Everything came up roses for Lee Central against Socastee when the teams last played back in November of 2014 as the squad secured a 62-31 win. Does Lee Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Socastee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
