Basketball Recap: Washington County Comes Up Short

Washington County lost against Bluegrass United back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Washington County Commanders fell 35-22 to the Bluegrass United Bluehawks.

Bluegrass United was led to victory by Marty Gordon and Mia Preston. Gordon posted 11 points and eight rebounds, while Preston had nine points. That's the most points Gordon has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noe Gordon, who scored two points.

Washington County dropped their record down to 6-18 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bluegrass United, their win bumped their record up to 12-18.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mercer County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bluegrass United, they will square off against Wolfe County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
