Soccer Game Preview: Smoky Hill vs. Montbello

The Smoky Hill Buffalo will be playing in front of their home fans against the Montbello Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Smoky Hill's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Smoky Hill fell victim to Grandview and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Wolves.

Meanwhile, Montbello also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Denver East on Thursday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Montbello can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Denver East are ranked 22nd).

Smoky Hill's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Montbello, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything went Smoky Hill's way against Montbello when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Smoky Hill made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Buffalo repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
