Football Game Preview: Philip Barbour Colts vs. Lewis County Minutemen + How To Watch

The Philip Barbour Colts will head out to face off against the Lewis County Minutemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Philip Barbour has three straight wins, Lewis County has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Philip Barbour's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They really took it to Petersburg for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-0 victory. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Colts this season.

Cameron Bennett was his usual excellent self, rushing for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Lewis County played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against North Marion, falling 35-14. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Huskies are ranked 18th).

Philip Barbour's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lewis County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Philip Barbour against Lewis County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
