Football Recap: Greenfield/Northwestern Skates Past Sesser-Valier/Waltonville with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Greenfield/Northwestern had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed past the Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils to the tune of 42-14. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Greenfield/Northwestern didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Richard Ross and Carter Chapman.

The win (which was Greenfield/Northwestern's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points over those games. As for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Greenfield/Northwestern will head out to challenge Calhoun/Brussels at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 13.3, the Warriors 5.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Sesser-Valier/Waltonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
