Volleyball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Palo Verde

Foothill faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

While Foothill had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

Bryn Neibaur paced Foothill's offense, picking up 14 kills. Neibaur got some help from Addison Chase and her 16 assists. Neibaur was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Palo Verde, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Foothill and Palo Verde will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Falcons are set to face off against their familiar foe Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Palo Verde will square off against rival Centennial at 7:06 p.m. on Wednesday.
