While Abilene put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Herington. The Cowboys blew past the Railroaders 17-0. The contest marked the Cowboys' most dominant victory of the season.

Abilene pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Herington, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Abilene beat the Railroaders by a score of 23-1 later that day.
