Surry HomeSchool hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against the Christian Educational Consortium Cougars by a score of 42-34 on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Runnin' Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 470th in North Carolina, while the Cougars are ranked 231st in Kentucky).

Despite the loss, Christian Educational Consortium still got an impressive performance from Jenna Wyndham, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. That was a full 70.6% of Christian Educational Consortium's points, marking the 16th time in a row Wyndham has posted more than a third of the team's points. Ainsley Balzer was another key player, putting up two points and 12 rebounds.

Surry HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 9-19. As for Christian Educational Consortium, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-21 record this season.
