Baseball Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short

Cocoa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Palm Bay Pirates, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in February.

Cocoa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rayden Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cocoa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Palm Bay, their record now sits at 11-8.

Coming up, Cocoa is taking a road trip to square off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.93 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Palm Bay, they will be playing at home against Titusville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Terriers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
