Recap: Bowie vs. San Marcos
In their previous meeting,
Bowie routed
San Marcos 59 - 7. Things didn't go nearly so well for Bowie this time around, however. Bowie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 31 - 26 to San Marcos.
The San Marcos defense couldn't hold their ground and gave up 16 points in the first half. That put it down 16 - 10. Luckily the offense came through for it in the second half to collect 21 points as well as the win.
One key standout for San Marcos was Prudy Calderon, who earned two touchdowns and 85 yards rushing the ball.
The defeat dropped Bowie's record to 8-2. San Marcos remains undefeated at home and rose to 9-1.
Both Bowie and San Marcos will be guarding their home fields in their upcoming games. Bowie will battle it out against Hendrickson on Friday at 7:00 PM. This will be the second home game in a row for Bowie. As for San Marcos, it will face off against Round Rock Westwood Friday at 7:30 PM.
