The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes took a 36-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Lake Eagles on Monday.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marley Weaver, who posted 12 points and four steals. That was a full 46.2% of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Sullivan, who earned four points and six rebounds.

East Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Savanna Wall led the charge by putting up 12 points. Yara Salib was another key player, posting eight points.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for East Lake, they moved to 3-15 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-20 loss against St. Petersburg Catholic on the 28th. As for East Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-25 victory against Tarpon Springs on the 28th.
