Vianney extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 31-1 in the process. They put the hurt on the Carterville Lions with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Golden Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by nine runs or more this season.

As for Carterville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-12. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Carterville's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Capie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Vianney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 win against St. Dominic on the 16th. Carterville has also already played their next contest (against Carbondale), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
