Basketball Recap: Barringer Takes a Loss

Barringer was the 54-44 winner over American History when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Barringer Blue Bears fell 63-53 to the American History Eagles on Saturday. The Blue Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

American History's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ahmad Davis, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Davis is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ah'Mad Woodard, who posted 16 points along with six steals and five boards.

Barringer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for American History, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Barringer will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Science Park at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for American History, they will venture away from home to challenge Arts at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
