Softball Recap: Springboro Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northmont, Springboro was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Waynesville Spartans. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Vanessa Hornfeck, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Springboro's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Waynesville, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springboro will head out to challenge Northmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbolts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.29 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Waynesville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
