Preview: Lyndon Tigers vs. Wichita County Indians

The Lyndon Tigers are on the road again on Saturday and play against the Wichita County Indians at 11:00 a.m. on November 25th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lyndon extended their postseason success on Friday against Cair Paravel. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 52-6 victory over the Lions. That's two games straight that Lyndon has won by exactly 46 points.

Lyndon relied on the efforts of Jalen Massey, who gained 162 total yards and four touchdowns, and Tanner Heckel, who rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Heckel is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Wichita County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Ell-Saline 64-28 on the road.

Wichita County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Gardner, who rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 89 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Khris Hermosillo, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Wichita County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.

Their wins bumped Lyndon to 12-0 and Cair Paravel to 9-3.

We should be in store for an exciting game Saturday as Lyndon and Wichita County have no problem gaining yardage. Lyndon has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 379.9 total yards per game. However, it's not like Wichita County struggles in that department as they've been even better at 396.9 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
