Granite Hills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the El Capitan Vaqueros 42-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Vaqueros are ranked 441st).

A big part of Granite Hills' victory came down to the chemistry between Zachary Benitez and his top target Noah Walker. Benitez threw for 235 yards and three TDs while Walker picked up 140 receiving yards and one touchdown. Walker showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 60 yards.

Granite Hills' run defense was locked in: El Capitan could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. While five picked up at least two total tackles, Hudson Daniels stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made two total tackles. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Granite Hills; they were averaging 4.2yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 3.7 per game.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Granite Hills, adding 18 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Parker Johnson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

Granite Hills' record now sits at 6-3. As for El Capitan, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
