Baseball Recap: Lincoln East Takes Down Ranked Lincoln North Star

Lincoln East faced Lincoln North Star in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Spartans walked away with a 5-1 win over the Navigators. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Navigators recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Lincoln East got a great performance from Greyson Bjorkman as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Bjorkman has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brodie McIntire was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Lincoln East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Lincoln East's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.
