Softball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Alexandria-Monroe Tigers

The Tipton Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tipton came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to Frankton. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe entered their tilt with Monroe Central on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Golden Bears with a sharp 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Stella Griffin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kinsley Johnson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Alexandria-Monroe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tipton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.

Tipton might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Alexandria-Monroe in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
