Valley Christian dropped their record down to 12-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Marysville Indians, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Marysville, they pushed their record up to 8-18-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Valley Christian: they've now won four in a row.

For Marysville's part, Avery Landrum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Landrum a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Marysville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-18-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Austin Jacobs was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Karter Ellyson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

As of now, neither Valley Christian nor Marysville have any future games scheduled.
