Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Find Success

Trinity Christian posted their closest win since April 4, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mansfield Homeschool Knights 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Knights last Saturday, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Kason Jones and JJ Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Martinez scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhett Highley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win got Trinity Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Mansfield Homeschool, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions duke it out with the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mansfield Homeschool, they will square off against Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
