Basketball Game Preview: Trinidad Miners vs. Primero Bulldogs

The Trinidad Miners will head out to face off against the Primero Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Trinidad is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Sanford on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Trinidad had to suffer through a 58-4 loss at the hands of Sanford. The game marked the Miners' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Mikayla Hinchley and Nevaeha Trujillo, who each put up two points. Elia Bowman held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Meanwhile, Primero's and Antonito's contest on Friday was close at halftime, but Primero turned on the heat in the second half with 38 points. Primero blew past Antonito 52-28.

Trinidad now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Primero, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Trinidad came up short against Primero in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 40-36. Can Trinidad avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
