Basketball Recap: Chambers Academy Takes a Loss

Chambers Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-41 on January 14th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Macon-East Montgomery Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiyah Powell, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Powell a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Miya Tatum, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals.

Chambers Academy's record is now 3-8. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Chambers Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they and Lowndes Academy will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
