Baseball Game Preview: Huron Tigers vs. Clyde Fliers

The Huron Tigers will take on the Clyde Fliers at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Huron and Edison had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, Clyde never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against Upper Sandusky by a score of 3-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Fliers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Not much got past Colt Flores, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Upper Sandusky off the board. Flores has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clyde's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Jeffrey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Clyde hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Sandusky struck out seven times.

Clyde's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Huron, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
