Canyon hadn't done well against Valencia recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cowboys came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in March.

Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 28-30, 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.

The victory made it two in a row for Canyon and bumps their season record up to 23-6. As for Valencia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season.

Canyon will square off against Cajon at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Valencia, they will challenge Del Norte at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
