Volleyball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Duncan Wildkats. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildkats earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Josselyn Lechuga paced Ray's offense, picking up two kills. Lechuga got some help from Mia Barajas and her three assists. Lechuga was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ray's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Duncan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ray will square off against rival Fort Thomas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Duncan is set to challenge their familiar foe Hayden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
