Football Recap: Logan Newton and Trea Johnson Lead the Defense for White House-Heritage Win + How To Watch

White House-Heritage won against Greenbrier last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Patriots blew past the Kenwood Knights 35-10. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Cale Hunt was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 51 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Xavier Murray, who threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes.

White House-Heritage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Logan Newton and Trea Johnson. Another thorn in Kenwood's side was Bradley Butler, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Special teams was a major factor in the game for White House-Heritage, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Hunt, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

White House-Heritage has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Kenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, White House-Heritage is headed away from home for the first time to take on Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kenwood, they will welcome Kirkwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
