Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Reds vs. Pine View Panthers

The Cedar Reds will venture away from home to take on the Pine View Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cedar and Hurricane meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The game between the Reds and the Tigers didn't end well, with the Reds falling 68-54.

Meanwhile, Pine View sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 victory over Desert Hills on Wednesday. Those 49 points were actually the fewest the Panthers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Pine View has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Cedar, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Cedar couldn't quite finish off Pine View in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 and fell 41-39. Can the Reds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
